Genesis & Mission
The genesis of NOLIES stems from the idea that your greed will fix the world by funding citizen-led reforms against political lies.
Problem Statement
Modern democracies are undermined by unchecked political dishonesty. Politicians often prioritize winning elections over truth, employing misinformation, censorship, and manipulative narratives to sway public opinion. This leads to polarization, where complex issues are reduced to one-sided views, eroding trust in institutions. While shades of gray exist in most debates, blatant lies—where facts are incontrovertibly distorted for political gain—go unpunished. Without accountability mechanisms, such as mandatory public apologies or penalties like fines and removal from office, democracy devolves into a contest of deception rather than informed governance.
A prime example is the ongoing discussion in Wales, UK, where legislation is being considered to impose consequences on politicians for deliberate lies. As of October 2025, this idea has made significant progress: A draft Bill (Senedd Cymru Member Accountability and Elections Bill) has been published, giving Welsh voters the power to remove Senedd Members who seriously break conduct rules, including deliberate deception. For more details, see the official draft Bill page. However, such reforms are rare and often blocked (simply not initiated) by those in power. The only way – Citizen-led efforts, requires massive signature drives (e.g., 100,000 per country), and it faces significant financial barriers to organize, promote, and sustain. Viral memcoin would help. By buying you support efforts to initiate this legislation.
Solution: NOLIES Memecoin
NOLIES introduces a novel approach: a memecoin that leverages cryptocurrency’s viral potential to fund global information campaigns, gathering signatures for citizen-led initialization of legislation. As PoliticiansCantLie – NOLIES memecoin empowers communities to sponsor high-profile actions aimed at legislative changes. Funds raised through token sales and appreciation will support: Gathering signatures for citizen-initiated bills mandating penalties (public apologies, financial fee or losing political position) for proven, unrepentant political lies Promoting awareness and advocacy in various countries, modeled after the Welsh proposal, or perhaps better ideas. Perhaps after memcoin holders vote, also other initiatives. Token holders become part of a movement against polarization, using meme culture to amplify the message: “Politicians Can’t Lie.” The project’s success hinges on community engagement, with new tokens mintable only for verified, impactful initiatives—ensuring transparency and purpose-driven growth.
Roadmap Progress on the Idea
The core idea of penalizing politicians for deliberate lies, as exemplified by the Welsh proposal, is advancing. In February 2025, proposals were made to force lying politicians from office, with Senedd committees recommending punishments. By October 2025, a draft Bill was published to enable voter recall for serious misconduct, including deception. This shows growing momentum, but full implementation is still pending. NOLIES aims to accelerate similar initiatives globally through community funding.
